Topics 1 & 2: Introduce nouns (common/proper) and verbs (action/being). Sentence-building games โ€” every sentence must have both!

Week 2
Adjectives & Adverbs โ€” Add Colour to Writing

Topics 3 & 4: Describing with adjectives, adding detail with adverbs. Practice writing vivid sentences: "The tiny red bird sang loudly."

Week 3
Pronouns, Prepositions & Articles

Topics 5, 6 & 8: Replace nouns with pronouns to avoid repetition. Use prepositions to describe position. Master a, an, the in context.

Week 4
Conjunctions โ€” Joining Sentences Together

Topic 7: Co-ordinating (and, but, or) and subordinating (because, when, if) conjunctions. Transform short sentences into flowing, complex ones.

Week 5
Capital Letters, Full Stops & Question Marks

Topics 9 & 10: Punctuation rules for sentences. Proof-reading activities โ€” find and fix the mistakes. Writing paragraphs with correct end punctuation.

Commas & Speech Marks

Topics 11 & 12: Comma rules in lists and clauses. Punctuating dialogue โ€” writing a short conversation between two characters.

Tenses โ€” Past, Present & Future

Topics 13, 14 & 15: Journey through time! Compare the same story told in past, present and future tenses. Regular and irregular verb forms.
